Welcome to ONE BAPTIST CHURCH!!!!!

ONETime: Worship Service. It’s about ONE Person and that ONE is not us. It’s a time when time doesn’t matter. It’s our time to be equipped for the ONE Who’s time it is.

ONELink: Fellowship Groups. This a very integral part of fulfilling the ONE Way. These groups are ONEs Link to the word, Link to each other, and Link with ministry.

ONE-on-ONE: Discipleship. It’s our appointment to “commit thou to faithful men” (2 Timothy 2:2). The Great Commission is making disciples; therefore, we must be purposed in our pursuit of discipleship.

ONETouch: Inreach/Outreach. It’s our opportunity to offer HIS touch, through us, to others.

Baptist Doctrine.

EXPLANATION: A ONE Baptist Church embraces the same biblical distinctives for which our “Baptist” brothers and sisters through the centuries suffered and died. We believe it is our responsibility to hold and to uphold these distinctives with the same dogmatism and tenacity they exhibited. Namely…
• That SALVATION is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone—completely apart from works—whether they be to “make” us saved, or to “keep” us saved… and that SALVATION is a free gift to all who exercise their own free will in “calling upon the name of the Lord.” (Eph. 2:8-9; Rom. 5:15; Rev. 22:17; Rom. 10:13)
• That BAPTISM by immersion is paramount in God’s plan—not because it is a part of salvation, but because it is an act of virtuous obedience in publicly demonstrating our private identification with Christ’s death, burial and resurrection.
• That the CHURCH is in no way the MEANS of salvation, but is the humble assembling of believers together as the body of Christ to WORK OUT their salvation. We believe that every person who has been born again is a part of “the church, the body of Christ,” but dogmatically believe it is God’s intention that every  believer function as an active part and identifiable member of a specific, local expression of the body of Christ. (Eph. 1:22-23; 1 Cor. 12:27)

SUMMARIZATION: • Adherence to our Baptist heritage. • Salvation as a gift of God’s grace offered to all. • Non-Calvinistic. • Eternal security of the believer. • Baptism by immersion as an act of obedience, not a part of salvation. • The primacy of the local church.

Authoritative Word.

EXPLANATION: A ONE Baptist Church in the 21st century receives the Word of God as did our brothers and sisters in the church of the Thessalonians in the 1st century—that it is not simply the words of men, but that it is in truth, the very word and words of God. (1 Thess. 2:13) A ONE Baptist Church also believes that God’s Word for English-speaking people has been preserved for us in the Authorized Version—and we look to it as our final authority. We believe that it is our responsibility as a church to unashamedly and expositorily preach the authoritative Word to perfect the saints.

SUMMARIZATION: • Preservation of God’s word and words in the Authorized Version. • Expositorily “preaching the word.”

Practicing Virtues.

EXPLANATION: A ONE Baptist Church is a church that positions itself and structures itself to lead people through the scope and sequence of the divinely inspired strategy for our growth and development found in 2 Peter 1:5-7. By following this divine strategy, we believe that we position the people in our fellowship to truly know Jesus, to never fall, and ultimately, to experience an entrance into the everlasting kingdom that is abundant. This positioning of God’s people is achieved by structuring the ministries of the church to purposely and purposefully lead people to “give ALL diligence” to add to their faith the seven virtues revealed in 2 Peter 1:5-7.

SUMMARIZATION: • Focused leadership. • Simple, but purposeful ministry structure. (We don’t just do things because they’re trendy, or for the sake of doing them. We
seek to position people to continuously be adding to their faith.)

Training faithful men and women.

EXPLANATION: A ONE Baptist Church believes that the mission of the church is clear, and that the tireless participation in this mission has been mandated by our Lord Jesus Christ to every person who names His name. (Matt. 28:18-20; 1 Cor. 15:58) We believe that every person who is anticipating bodily resurrection WITH Christ is to be stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work OF Christ. We believe that this is the work He communicated to His disciples that He had been commissioned by His Father to “finish” (John 4:34)—and is the work He communicated to His Father that He had “finished” in His prayer the night before He died. (John 17:4) The work He “finished” was very simply, the work of “making disciples.” Jesus clarified what the work of discipleship is by identifying three things He had done in “finishing the work” of making disciples. (John 17:6,8,18) We believe, therefore, that the biblical work of discipleship has three basic components: 1. WIN people to Christ. (John 17:6) 2. BUILD them up in their faith. (John 17:8) 3. SEND them into their world (sphere of influence) to be WINNERS, and BUILDERS. (John 17:18) In the same way that individuals are trained to reproduce disciples, we believe the church corporately and collectively is to be trained to reproduce churches. To put it succinctly, a ONE Baptist Church is all about reproducing reproducers who are an active part of reproducing reproducing churches. We actively TRAIN people to adopt that biblical mindset, and TRAIN them to be biblically equipped for the task.

SUMMARIZATION: • Biblical Discipleship • Church Planting

Integration of life between the so-called “SECULAR” and “SACRED.”

EXPLANATION: A ONE Baptist Church seeks to train its members to recognize that Jesus did not intend that our salvation would simply cause Him to become the most prominent or most important of all of the various components of our life—our family, our career, our finances, our relationships, etc.—or even that we would simply allow Him to touch all of the components of our lives. We believe it is our responsibility to train people toward the biblical mindset that Christ “IS” our life—and that every area of our life is to be completely integrated into Christ’s Lordship.

SUMMARIZATION: • Every area of life is SACRED and is to be ruled by Christ’s LORDSHIP.

Sanctification of the corporate body, and the individual members of the body.

EXPLANATION: A ONE Baptist Church so recognizes that as the body of Christ, we represent Christ to the world—that it prioritizes both personal and corporate holiness. (1 Peter 1:15-16; 1 Thess. 4:3-7; 2 Cor. 7:1) It is such a priority, that even in this 21st century world of tolerance and political correctness, it is willing to follow the biblical admonition and procedure for maintaining holiness in the body. (Gal. 6:1; Matt. 18:15-20; 1 Cor. 5:4-5) As the scripture admonishes, the procedure is carefully and prayerfully carried out in the spirit of meekness —and each step in the process is always with the goal of RESTORING (not DISCIPLINING!) the “overtaken” brother or sister to the joy of their fellowship with Christ and with those in His body.

SUMMARIZATION: • Personal/Corporate Holiness • Church Restoration

Training existing pastors and churches in these distinctives.

EXPLANATION: A ONE Baptist Church, in the name of “reproduction,” recognizes that there are many existing pastors and churches in Laodicea that need a living, breathing example of a Godhonoring and God-glorifying church to follow—much like the Thessalonian church followed the example for ministry that was modeled by the churches in Judaea. (1 Thess. 2:14) A ONE Baptist Church actively and purposely seeks to befriend such pastors and churches, in hopes of developing a relationship whereby it may become, not only a model —but an agent of encouragement, challenge and training.

SUMMARIZATION: • Become a model church.
